Frequently Asked Question

Notice: During the installation process, you'll be asked to login to National Instruments (NI) for verification, we recommend using your school issued email (@sdsu.edu) to create the NI account.

Installation Guide for NI Multisim:

Step 1) Go to the website: https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/software-products/download.multisim.html#452133

Step 2) Click "INSTALL OFFLINE" on the right side:

Once clicked on the "INSTALL OFFLINE", the website will prompt you to download an .iso file. Wait until the download is finished and then procced to step 3.

Step 3) Locate the downloaded .iso file on your computer, right-click on it, click "Mount" and click "Open".

Step 4) The following folder should pops up: Double-click on the "Install" application in the folder to open the setup.

Step 5) Click "I accept the above license agreement" and "Next" afterward.

Step 6) Also click "Next" on the following step.

Step 7) On this page make sure that all boxes are left unchecked then click "Next".

Step 8) Click "Next" on all the following steps and wait:

Step 9) You will be prompted to select next a couple more times until you reach this pop up, select Yes for convenience sake.

Step 10) After step 9 you should reach the log in pop up. You will want to create an account if you haven't already and log in to activate.

Step 11) After logging in you will be prompted to select how to activate account. If you select the option to "check for license on account" and it does not activate, then you will need a serial number. To get a serial number submit a ticket requesting for the serial number.

Step 12) Once you have the serial number, finish the following steps for activation:
